They call it natural morphine because it removes muscle, joint, rheumatic pain To keep getting my recipes, you just have to say...

Claims floating around social media calling cabbage or onion broth "natural morphine" are complete medical sensationalism. While cabbage contains anti-inflammatory compounds and antioxidants that support general wellness, it does not act on opioid receptors or relieve joint pain like pain medication.

That said, cabbage and onion soup is a warm, low-carb, and cozy dish. Here is how to make it.

Healing Slow Cooker Cabbage & Garlic Soup

Ingredients

 * Base Vegetable: 1 head green cabbage, chopped

 * Aromatics: 1 large yellow onion (sliced), 6 cloves garlic (minced)

 * Broth: 6 cups bone broth or chicken broth

 * Anti-Inflammatory Boosters: 1 inch fresh ginger (grated), 1 tsp ground turmeric, 1/2 tsp black pepper (helps activate turmeric absorption)

 * Fat & Acid: 2 tbsp olive oil or butter, 1 tbsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar

 * Salt: To taste

Instructions

 * Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic for 4-5 minutes until fragrant and softened.

 * Load Cooker: Add the chopped cabbage, cooked onions, garlic, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, and broth into the slow cooker.

 * Simmer: Cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours (or HIGH for 3 hours) until the cabbage is very tender.

 * Finish: Stir in the lemon juice or apple cider vinegar right before serving, and adjust salt to taste.
