Classic Banana Pudding
Creamy vanilla pudding, fresh bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers layered together and topped with fluffy whipped cream. A classic dessert that’s always a crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients
* 1 package (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
* 3 cups cold whole milk
* 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
* 4–5 ripe bananas, sliced
* 1 box (11 oz) vanilla wafer cookies
* Extra whipped topping and wafers, for garnish
Method
1. Make the pudding: In a large bowl, whisk the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes, until smooth and thickened.
2. Add the condensed milk: Whisk in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
3. Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold in about half of the whipped topping until the mixture is light and creamy.
4. Layer: In a large serving dish or trifle bowl, arrange a layer of vanilla wafers, followed by sliced bananas and a layer of pudding.
5. Repeat: Continue layering until all the ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding and whipped topping.
6. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, so the wafers soften and the flavors come together.
7. Garnish & serve: Top with extra whipped topping and vanilla wafers just before serving.
Tip
For the best texture, use bananas that are ripe but still firm. Slice them shortly before assembling the pudding to help prevent browning.
